Universal Lighting Technologies has earned a Food Equipment Certification from National Science Foundation (NSF) International for its EVERLINE Vapor Tight luminaires. These durable fixtures feature lumens and the reliability of a complete in-house design (electronic, thermal and optical), which includes EVERLINE “matched” modules and drivers.
“Among restaurants and commercial kitchens the NSF is the most specified certification there is, so everyone at Universal was extremely excited to learn that the EVERLINE Vapor Tight luminaires have been officially certified,” says Stephanie Boyle, an EVERLINE LED Fixtures product manager for Universal. “This is a durable fixture with fiberglass-reinforced housing. It’s ideal for tough environments, and it’s a great product for facilities looking to make the transition to LED technology.”
The NSF develops public health standards and certifications for food, water and consumer products. The NSF certified all EVERLINE LED Vapor Tight lumen packages and color temperatures for use in commercial food service applications. The new EVERLINE LED Vapor Tight luminaires are one of three EVERLINE LED products available from Universal, including the EVERLINE LED Retrofit Kit and the EVERLINE LED Wall Pack.
The long-lasting and ultra-durable LED Vapor Tight fixtures are energy-efficient and make upgrading a facility’s lighting easy due to Universal’s “matched” system. Choice of current and voltage-base drives the process of matching drivers to LED modules, as well as dimming and other considerations. Universal ensures compatibility without the fuss, striving to make it easier for specifying architects, distributors and contractors in the field.
The EVERLINE Vapor Tight luminaires feature 4- and 8-foot products for retrofit and new construction, providing equivalent lumen packages to current fluorescent solutions but at significantly higher efficiencies. Fixture light output lumens range from 3300 to 9800 delivered lumens for the 4-foot product and 7,000 to 196,00 delivered lumens for the 8-foot product, with universal input voltage of 120 to 277VAC.
Standard gasketed seal and IP65 rating (ensuring dust-proof and water jet spray capable housing) along with optional tamper-resistant hardware offer an ideal light source for harsh culinary environments. Color temperature options include 3500K, 4000K and 5000K with color rendering index of 82 or better. Plus, the EVERLINE Vapor Tight fixture provides efficient optical performance with wide distribution, eliminating dark zones.
