AIA Shares Concerns with Members of Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources

The American Institute of Architects’ CEO Robert Ivy, FAIA, sent a letter this week to Sens. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) and Maria Cantwell (D-Wash.), chair and ranking member, respectively, of the Senate’s Committee on Energy and Natural Resources.

The letter outlines concerns the AIA has with language in the Senate’s energy legislation that would repeal targets for the reduction of emissions from federal buildings, as well as language that could negatively impact the codes development process.

The letter (below) currently is being more widely distributed to members of Congress.
