ASSA ABLOY Electronic Security Hardware has taken asset protection to the next level at Forsythe Data Center. More than 200 HES KS200 Server Cabinet Locks are now delivering real-time access control to individual server cabinet locks in a single-card system at the Elk Grove Village, Ill., facility.
“We realized that our customers were looking for a way to control, credential and capture an audit trail at the cabinet level,” says Steve Harris, vice president, data center development, Forsythe. “We saw this as a service break through, and we began offering the HES KS200 Server Cabinet Locks with Wiegand wiring to our customers.”
The HES KS200 Series Integrated Wiegand Cabinet Locks extend access control to protect data center assets from intrusion and ex+downtime by bringing real-time access control in a single-card system to individual server cabinet doors. With multi-technology reader capabilities and mechanical key override, the KS200 locks integrate with existing electronic access control systems.
“Forsythe is a customer with the interest of their clients always driving their business model,” says Chris Hobbs, business development leader, ASSA ABLOY. “It’s exciting to work on something new that will make a difference in the business success of our customers.”
Forsythe is using the HES KS200 cabinet locks to strengthen access control in several different ways. From the smaller meet-me rooms to the large telecom rooms, each cabinet has different networking within it, often with different service providers needing access.
“This cabinet lock system is allowing us to take security even further,” explains Harris. “Our customers from the insurance, healthcare and financial markets appreciate this level of security, auditability and accountability. The HES KS200 cabinet locks are allowing us to make a step forward in providing peace of mind for our clients.”
