Sonoma County, Calif.-based ceiling panel and tile manufacturer, Ceilume, announced the opening of a large showroom in Portland’s central eastside industrial district.
Ceilume’s 3,000-square-foot facility is geared to professional interior designers, builders and homeowners alike. It was built to showcase the company’s 35 different ceiling tiles and panels in vignettes developed to inspire design ideas for interiors of all types, in a setting that focuses purely on ceilings.
“We selected Portland for its design culture and its central location serving the Pacific Northwest,” says Noah Davis, Ceilume showroom manager. “Ceilume has a multitude of installations in Portland already, and the central eastside location is convenient for our growing customer base here.”
The company’s products can be used for a wide variety of interior applications, decorative and functional, including illumination and daylighting. As a decorative alternative to traditional acoustical ceiling tiles, Ceilume’s NRC-Plus Perforated Panel System provides a noise reduction coefficient (NRC) of 0.85.
Ceilume products are Class A fire-rated, self-extinguishing, and can be installed beneath fire sprinklers, hiding them and making the ceiling less cluttered and more attractive. When exposed to heat, the panels soften and fall from the ceiling grid, enabling unobstructed sprinkler operation.
Ceilume’s Greenguard Gold-certified panels and tiles are made from lightweight, recyclable thermoplastics, are low-VOC-emitting, dust-free and promote good indoor air quality. The products can be glued to an existing ceiling or used in any environment where a dropped ceiling is required. The tiles and panels are washable, do not promote mold growth and can also be used for outdoor applications. Their fiber-free makeup is well suited for clean rooms and healthcare facilities, and they are FDA-compliant for use in food-handling areas.
