The Kebony line of line of clear-grain decking and cladding products is treated with a bio-based liquid for durability.
New for 2017, is Kebony Clear RAP 90 Degree Shiplap Cladding, a 3/4-inch-by-4 3/4-inch lap-siding, with durability that rivals tropical hardwood. It will be distributed throughout North America and is FSC-certified.
As with all Kebony woods, Kebony Clear is treated with a bio-based liquid that, after it is cured, provides a combination of durability and dimensional stability. The patented process results in wood cell walls that are about 50 percent thicker.
Kebony Clear products are homogeneously treated and can be further machined or cross-cut to length as required. Kebony technology initially produces a deep brown color; after exposure to sun and rain the wood develops a natural silver-gray patina.
The company’s global headquarters is based in Oslo, Norway, with its production facility in Skien, South of Oslo. The Kebony USA team is located in St. Clair, Mich., with local representation both on the East and West Coasts. Kebony has received awards for its environmentally friendly technology and innovation, including its naming as a World Economic Forum Technology Pioneer and a Global Cleantech 100 company. Kebony has been embraced by architects, designers and developers, which are served through a global sales and distribution network.
