Cloud Technology Automates Approval of Employee Time in the Field

Sage North America has released mobile time collection and project file capabilities in Sage Construction Anywhere, a cloud based collaborative solution.

Sage Construction Anywhere integrates with Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate (formerly Sage Timberline Office) to provide construction professionals with anytime, anywhere access to the project information needed to keep their jobs moving forward and will soon also integrate with Sage 100 Contractor (formerly Sage Master Builder). The solution’s initial release last spring gave Sage 300 customers the ability to access Sage 300 project reports anywhere, anytime on any mobile device or personal computer.

The latest release addresses a key area of process improvement for many contractors: automating the collection and approval of employee time worked in the field. The new Time capabilities within Sage Construction Anywhere provide employees and supervisors the ability to use an iPhone, or soon an Android, app to quickly and easily submit employee time worked on a project. Submitted time can be reviewed and approved using the mobile app or online within Sage Construction Anywhere, and once approved, the information flows to Payroll and Job Cost to provide the latest view of labor costs on the job.

The release also features Project Files capability that provides project teams with online access to share and easily retrieve project documents, drawings and photos from one central location. On-the-spot access to the latest information, while at the job site, saves foremen and superintendents time associated with tracking down information needed to correctly complete a task, reducing the risk and cost of potential rework, getting it done right the first time.
