The Designer Doorware Bullet+Stone door hardware collection has won at the International Design Awards (IDA), which celebrates multi-disciplinary design. Created by a group of designers, thinkers, and entrepreneurs in 2007, IDA’s aim is “to recognize, celebrate and promote legendary design visionaries and to uncover emerging talent in architecture, interior, product, graphic, and fashion design.” Bullet+Stone won Silver in the Home Interior Products / Windows, Doors category.
The Bullet+Stone collection fuses concrete with metallic finishes in a display of contrast and design. The collection draws inspiration from Brutalist architecture and provides users with a tactile experience that allows them to form a stronger connection to the contemporary interiors that surround them.
Three profiles are available: the Concrete Club lever handle, a take on modern silhouettes with fully rounded edges; the Concrete Quad lever handle, featuring straight, squared edges; and the Concrete Niki, a round flat knob. The artisanal concrete comes standard in a Luna Grey finish; custom finishes also are available. The solid brass metal is available in all of Designer Doorware’s special finishes.
“Bullet+Stone blends two of architecture’s most timeless, enduring materials in a fresh, modern exploration of design,” says Joseph Di Benedetto, executive director for Designer Doorware. “We are honored that the IDA Awards judges recognize the innovation behind Bullet+Stone and its contemporary interpretation of classic forms.”
The IDA official Winner’s Award Ceremony will take place at the Pacific Design Center in Los Angeles, and will include winners of the 11th and 12th Edition of the IDA Design Awards.
