Nominations for the 56th Annual New York Emmy Awards have been announced, and GAF is proud to have been nominated for its “Scary Experience” television commercial. John Rathjen, manager of media productions for GAF’s internal ad agency, produced the 30-second spot, which was nominated in the “Editor: Short Form” category.
The commercial stars “Jesse the Jack Russell Terrier,” who is scared by a thunderstorm that is raging outside. He runs around the interior of a house, passing multiple puddles from a leaky roof, until he finds refuge underneath a bed. When he sticks his face out from under the bed, the camera shows that the rest of the family is hiding under the bed, as well. The commercial has been broadcast nationwide.
“We are excited and honored to have been nominated for an award as prestigious as the New York Emmy Award,” states Ted Marcopolus, vice president of marketing services at GAF. “John Rathjen and his team are very talented, and we are thrilled that their work is being recognized by the Academy.”
