Laminators Inc. has released new Health Product Declarations (HPDs) for three of its ACM products—Omega-Lite, Glaze-Lite and Thermolite. Omega-Lite and Glaze-Lite panels are composed of a polypropylene, corrugated core between finished aluminum sheets; Thermolite panels are constructed with an insulating foam core sandwiched between two corrugated, stabilizers and finished aluminum sheets.
A Health Product Declaration (HPD), overseen by the Health Product Declaration Collaborative (HPDC), is a standardized report that is used to disclose the contents/ingredients of building materials, as well as their possible human health effects and hazards. The HPDC is a non-profit organization with over 330 organizational members from across the building industry—including architects, designers, building owners, manufacturers, researchers, information systems, and consultants. According to HPD Collaborative, the purpose of the HPDC is to “improve the transparency of information and material health in buildings and the environment.”
More than 700 manufacturers use HPDs to provide material transparency data on over 33,000 products. Laminators’ HPDs can be downloaded directly from its website, under the Architectural Sustainability section.
