Landscape Architecture Organizations Explore the State of the Profession

In Raleigh, N.C., representatives from seven landscape architecture organizations met to explore and champion the state of the profession. The representative organizations included:

The two days of discussion explored how landscape architecture organizations can come together to affect change, inform policy, promote mutual objectives, and identify areas of further collaboration. The objectives of the meeting were to:

  • Create and promote opportunities for real interventions for climate change through landscape architecture
  • Increase diversity, equity, inclusion and reconciliation with Canada’s First Nations, Inuit and Métis communities throughout the profession
  • Address threats to professional licensure in North America
  • Understand the state of landscape architecture education, enrollment and accreditation in North America
  • Increase student participation in and awareness of our organizations
  • Explore solutions for the potential gap in the numbers of landscape architects in the industry, whether retiring or coming into the profession.

The landscape architecture organizations have met yearly since 2002.
