Cree Inc. has introduced the Cree HXB Series LED High Bay Luminaire, the first of its kind to operate in ambient temperatures spanning -40F to +149F and delivering 70,000 lumens at up to 140 lumens per watt (LPW). The luminaire can be mounted at heights of 30 feet and higher, and comes with optical options including flood and aisle distributions. The HXB High Bay Series brings Cree technology to applications such as cold-storage spaces with sub-zero temperatures and high-heat climates like warehouses and airplane hangars.
The HXB Series withstands cold and heat. It is engineered for performance today and for 100,000 hours of use, with a virtually maintenance-free design, zero restrike time and lightweight construction. An aluminum bonded zipper fin heat sink provides thermal management for long lifetime and efficacy in extreme operating temperatures. With less material than cast aluminum heat sinks, the HXB Series is half the weight of competing luminaires.
The series is available with 35,000 and 70,000 lumen output options of illumination performance, offering one-for-one replacement of 500W and 1000W HID luminaires at color temps of 3500K, 4000K or 5000K at up to and beyond 80 CRI. It is designed for installation with a universal mounting system, all wrapped in a two-piece impact-resistant polycarbonate glare shield available in translucent or opaque with an optional uplight feature.
