TerraLUX Inc., a manufacturer of LED-based lighting solutions for illumination applications, has introduced the first LED lighting solution for flush-mounted ceiling fixtures that eliminates the need for light bulbs: the Line Voltage LED Round Engine.

Flush-mounted fixtures can be found adorning ceilings in hallways, bathrooms and eating areas of homes around the country. But, when one of the three 60 watt incandescent or 13 watt CFL bulbs inside the light burns out, a circus balancing act must ensue to change it out. Expensive and delicate glass shades must be removed and balanced on the ladder or precariously placed on the floor below. If you mange to not crush the shade, the annoying reality is you will be repeating this chore in a few months time when another bulb inevitably blows.

The Line Voltage LED Round Engine puts a stop to the monotonous cycle of burnt out bulbs. Fittingly, this technology of the future resembles a flying saucer with a ring of LEDs circling the engine. The Line Voltage LED Round Engine is high efficiency, producing more than 80 lumens per watt with a light output of 1,300 lumens. And, it is designed to produce 1800 diffuse light, evenly illuminating every portion of the glass shade.

The Line Voltage LED Round Engine is available in a variety of color temperatures (2,700K, 3,000K, 3,500K, 4,000K and 5,000K). Each LED in the Line Voltage LED Round Engine is protected by TerraLUX’s proprietary LEDSense® Thermal Protection. Temperatures of the LEDs are monitored and each can automatically be powered down as needed to prevent overheating and protect the lifespan of the LEDs. The Line Voltage LED Round Engine is 8 inches in diameter with a 1.5-inch profile. It is compatible with a 120 or 277V AC input voltage and has a five-year warranty.
