LG Electronics USA hosted the first in a series of special events aimed to connect consumers, architects, engineers and designers with true-life examples of its innovative HVAC solutions in action.

Highlights also included a keynote speech from Woodrow W. Clark, MA3, PhD, qualitative economist and co-winning member of the UNIPCC for 2007 Nobel Peace Prize.

Clark, a long-time advocate for the environment and renewable energy, is an internationally recognized author, public speaker and advisor specializing in smart, green communities. His presentation, titled “The Green Industrial Revolution in Your Home,” highlighted the importance of creating a livable, sustainable future today and how LG’s energy-efficient products exemplify innovation for a better life.

“LG is continually focused on bringing energy-efficient, cost-effective HVAC solutions to life, in the marketplace and the end consumers’ home,” says Scott Gilchrist, regional sales engineer, LG Electronics USA Commercial Air Conditioning. “Our goal is to answer the sustainability needs of any facility like those of The Vermont, the first high-rise VRF project in southern California, which recently achieved LEED Silver certification.”

The Vermont, owned by the Capri Investment Group, is a mixed-use residential and commercial destination in historic Koreatown in Los Angeles. LG, led by Gilchrist, installed the HVAC system currently in-use at The Vermont, switching out the originally-scoped water source heat pumps with LG’s Multi V Variable Refrigerant Flow system that provided higher energy efficiency at roughly the same cost.

The LG Multi V III features longer piping capabilities, lower operational costs, minimal to no ductwork, tenant comfort with individual zoning and efficiency superior to other technologies, while still maintaining architectural integrity with zoned comfort.

To bring additional air conditioning projects to life, LG is planning two additional Living Case Study events this year that will showcase projects in Chicago and New York City.
