Zumtobel introduces its louver luminaire, the MIREL LED. The lenses and the light source of MIREL LED are visible to the user and are a key design feature of the otherwise minimalist luminaire. The LED optics combine directional light distribution. Light guided via Zumtobel advanced Optics Quadrification-Lens (QLO) allows for high lighting quality, glare control and batwing light distribution. The light distribution is affected via the optics at a rate of 95 percent; only 5 percent of the luminous flux is reflected by the “louver.” The result is a more precise direction of light and higher efficiency, which is reflected by its luminaire efficacy factor (LEF) of up to 119 lumens per watt. The luminaire’s luminous flux levels and module sizes, however, have not changed in comparison to the traditional recessed louver luminaire. Old and new conventional luminaires can be replaced on a one-to-one basis, which makes MIREL LED a natural choice in renovation projects where an enhancement of the light environment is the goal.
With its clear, minimalistic and universally applicable design, the luminaire developed in collaboration with STUDIO AMBROZUS exploits its full potential, in terms of lighting quality and energy efficiency. With a color rendering index of Ra >80, the luminaire is particularly suitable for varied visual tasks in offices, classrooms and general-use areas. MIREL LED is available as linear pendant, linear and square surface-mounted and linear and square recessed or lay-in versions of the luminaire with high-output, efficiency and emergency options.
