Light Efficient Design has announced an agreement to merge with RemPhos Technologies. The new company will operate as Light Efficient Design.
Since 2008, Light Efficient Design has focused on providing HID retrofits noted for their reliability in the traditional lighting and distribution channel. The manufacturer has developed a broad line of LED retrofit solutions, utilizing technologies such as advanced active cooling and smart temperature control.
Established in 2009 by David Gershaw, RemPhos Technologies maintains a manufacturing and design facility that fabricates an array of LED solutions with an emphasis on controllability and flexibility. Gershaw will remain with the new company in the role of chief innovation officer.
“This merger is a one-plus-one equals four,” says Tim Taylor, Light Efficient Design founder and CEO. “Both companies have shown growth and a knack for being on the cutting edge of product design.”
“We are thrilled to join with Light Efficient Design in a commitment to developing breakthrough technologies that provide LED lighting solutions,” adds Gershaw.
Light Efficient Design has developed and sold through a national sales channel of electrical distributors, while RemPhos, which has also sold through distributors, has focused on energy service companies (ESCOs). “Light Efficient Design will continue to prioritize our partnerships with distributors,” Taylor emphasizes. “At the same time, the combination of distributors and the ESCO market will serve our customers well and amplify the sales efforts of both. RemPhos offerings complement the Light Efficient Design suite of products available to our customers throughout North America.”
Both companies are also aligned in having a customer and employee focus, which will continue after the merger. “We pride ourselves on doing the right thing for the customer and our employees. Our company values are to partner with customers and foster a work environment where people can grow and succeed,” Taylor observes.
Gershaw stated that the merger will not affect the level of service customers have received from their RemPhos representatives over the years. “Both companies have seasoned teams with industry experience that will work together to create an even more customer-focused company,” he says.
“This is the future of LED lighting,” Taylor concludes. “Light Efficient Design has distinguished itself as a company that pursues LED retrofit opportunities with visionary strategies for lighting transformation. This merger multiplies our capabilities in carrying out our mission.”
