The 1-inch-thick blades are 4 by 96 inches in size and can be joined together for larger spaces. The metal blades come with two end caps, one end cap or no end caps for maximum design flexibility. The factory-attached end caps reduce field labor. Double end-capped blades can be used to create an access area.
MetalWorks Blades are available in acoustical and non-acoustical options and spacing can be varied to accommodate a variety of design and acoustical needs. Acoustically, MetalWorks Blades with a standard perforation pattern provide 2.5 sabins of sound absorption per panel. The blades actually provide greater sound absorption than a continuous ceiling of the same surface area because sound is absorbed on both sides.
Made from durable aluminum for lighter, easier handling, the easy-to-install blades come in three standard colors, including Whitelume, Silverlume and Gun Metal. Custom colors are also available. The blades are seismic tested and have a Class A fire rating.
MetalWorks Blades are ideally suited for enhancing office, education and retail spaces acoustically and aesthetically in new construction or retrofit applications. When installed in a reverberant space, they can significantly reduce background noise and reverberation time, enhancing speech intelligibility.
Easily installed from a standard 15/16-inch suspension system, MetalWorks Blades joins SoundScapes Blades as part of the growing Armstrong portfolio of acoustical solutions that combine upscale linear design with excellent sound absorption.
