Patented in more than 50 countries, the unique Platinum 78 metal roof tile system has finally become available to metal roofing manufacturers in the United States and Canada.
The patented metal roofing line eliminates the need for additional battens, purlins or decking. Instead, the product can span rafters or trusses at significantly greater spacing without additional support. This feature is ideal for semi-skilled labor and D.I.Y, and can save installers up to 50 percent on labor and 70 percent on materials.* The product is available in lengths up to 11 feet or longer (depends on the production line) and offers aesthetics, energy saving and sound isolating performance when compared with traditional metal roofing products.
One of the biggest advantages of the Platinum 78 system is the dramatic potential savings in time and labor when installing the metal tile. In new construction applications, for example, a 34-truss structural design can be reduced to as little as nine trusses. The product weighs only 2 pounds per square foot and can be installed on slopes as low as of 2:12 or greater. Platinum 78 is ideal for re-covering damaged or leaking shingle roofs: It can be installed directly over existing roofing without replacing battens or trusses, creating a maintenance-free system for the life of the building.
Both the Platinum 78 metal roof tile, as well as its unique double-sided support beam installation, were patented separately by parent company Rav-Raaf Ltd. and its founder Reuven Peleg. A dedicated pilot production line was designed and installed at the company’s site to manufacture Platinum 78 metal roofing prototypes.
