The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) has published NEMA CPSP 2-2018 Cyber Hygiene Best Practices, which outlines industry best practices and guidelines for electrical equipment and medical imaging manufacturers to raise their level of cybersecurity sophistication in manufacturing facilities and engineering processes.
“This paper follows seven fundamental principles,” says Jim Gilsinn, principal engineer for industrial control systems and cybersecurity at Kenexis. “It provides guidelines for both proactive and reactive security with a focus on people, processes, and technology. Given the increasing trend of IoT devices and systems, the information provided in this document is a reference tool for electrical equipment and medical imaging manufacturers.”
NEMA Industry Director Steve Griffith shared the strategies outlined in this white paper at IoT World during an interactive panel discussion, Minimize Cybersecurity Risks in the Development of IoT Solutions. He will also share these strategies during his keynote at the IoT Global Innovation Forum July 10-11, Electrical Manufacturers’ Role in Mitigating IoT Cybersecurity Risks.
NEMA CPSP 2-2018 is available as an electronic download on the NEMA website.
