Online Design Tool Allows Creation of an Entire Lighting System Solution

Future Lighting Solutions (FLS) releases the Lighting System Creator (LSC) online design tool. The LSC enables a user to seamlessly create an entire lighting system solution from standard components while incorporating LM-80 data. The LSC leverages a proprietary algorithm based on value engineering principles that automatically generates light source options with the optimal current and temperature to meet flux, efficacy and L70 lumen maintenance targets from a minimum set of input parameters. For the first time, users will be able to select LED modules when running simulations, allowing them to evaluate the entire gamut of solid state light source technologies.

Based on the user-selected target application and light source, the LSC suggests the most appropriate system component options, including optics, LED drivers, connectors/sockets and thermal management solutions, to define a complete lighting system. The LSC also automatically provides additional details such as the optimal series/parallel light source layout for the LED drivers, mechanical compatibility of the heat sink mounting holes with the selected light source or socket, and whether the selected LED driver can power active cooling thermal solutions.
