ETi Solid State Lighting Inc. (ETi) announced to its customers attending a private event at Wrigley Field that it would not only maintain the momentum of product introductions seen over the past year, but it would accelerate the pace of product launches over the upcoming 12 months while continuing to drive return rates down for the industry.
By the end of 2017, ETi had driven its return rate down to 0.25 percent, reflecting more than a 30 percent decrease over 24 months, while delivering a 33 percent increase in the number of SKUs and a 276 percent increase in the number of product launches in 2017 versus 2016.
When asked how the company had achieved the milestones, Eva Chan, CEO of Elec-Tech Solid State Lighting (HK) Ltd. and its U.S. subsidiary, ETi Solid State Lighting Inc., says, “Designing and producing quality LED lighting products is not easy. As a company, we have learned that we succeed when our ETi team members contribute ideas and work hard. But, we have also learned that we can’t do it alone if we want to achieve our full potential. We are able to go farther with the support of other talented professionals. So, I am pleased to announce that ETi and Samsung have forged a relationship that allows us to enhance our product designs in North America with Samsung LEDs.”
“End users in the commercial and industrial business segments demand product reliability,” continues Ms. Chan. “Samsung has earned a reputation for providing products that consumers can rely on and trust. The LED Provided by Samsung badge on our products will serve as a message to end users that the LED lighting they are buying from ETi also contains Samsung technology. The inclusion of Samsung LED technology in our products reassures end users they are getting what they expect, providing another reason to choose ETi.”
With nearly 100 SKUs in the ETi product line using Samsung LED chips and a myriad more in development for 2018 and 2019, the ETi-Samsung relationship will present opportunities for consumers to purchase LED lighting products, knowing what components are inside.
The ability for ETi to develop product innovations has helped it start to build its own brand personality. Whether through the launch of the Spin Light, which has evolved into an entire product category, or the introduction of Color Preference technology, word is getting around that ETi products improve performance, functionality, and the overall user experience.
JK Joonghon Son, Samsung vice president, strategic marketing team, adds, “Its commitment to product development in the area of LED lighting will further enhance our relationship with consumers as a source of technology. We are proud to be associated with a team led by Ms. Eva Chan that delivers ideas in commercial and residential lighting with LED technology provided by Samsung.”
