System Combines Daylight with LEDs

Solatube International Inc. has launched its Solatube Smart LED System, which uses a combination of daylighting and LED lights to deliver up to 94 percent lighting energy savings. The system harnesses daylight during the day and transitions to LED lighting at night. Each LED is designed to last an average of 20 years. The system is available with an optional occupancy sensor, which activates the LEDs only when a low-light area is occupied.
