SolarWindow Technologies Inc., a developer of transparent electricity-generating coatings, has announced that production details of its electricity-generating windows will be released on Sept. 7, 2017.
When SolarWindow liquid coatings are applied to glass and fabricated into a window, ordinary windows become electricity-generating, turning entire buildings into vertical power generators.
The Company’s initial target market is electricity-generating windows for new and existing commercial buildings, which consume almost 40 percent of all the electricity generated in the U.S. When installed to a 50-story building, electricity costs can be reduced by up to 50 percent, according to independently-validated engineering modeling.
SolarWindow coatings generate electricity on rigid and flexible glass; and are being developed for car, truck and bus windshields and sunroofs, and aircraft and military applications.
