Tubelite Inc. has welcomed Jeff Phillips as its national director of supply chain in Walker, Mich. He will focus on inventory process improvement and facilitate overall supply chain process standardization, while overseeing sourcing, scheduling, warehousing and transportation. Tubelite personnel reporting to Phillips will include senior logistics manager Dan Politowicz, purchasing manager Ty Martin and master scheduler Charlie Monroe.
Phillips served as the director of materials procurement at Dematic, a supplier of integrated automated supply chain technology located in Grand Rapids, Mich. During his more than five years with the company, he held various positions starting as a procurement/materials manager, being promoted to the global operations team as sales inventory operations planning supply lead and later, becoming the procurement manager of the solutions department.
Prior to Dematic, Phillips began his career at Highlight Industries Inc., a packaging systems and solutions provider in Grand Rapids. From there, he went on to work at Structural Concepts Corp., a display case manufacturer in Muskegon, Mich.
Phillips earned his MBA from Western Michigan University in international business, and a Bachelor of Science in operations and supply management from Ferris State University in Michigan. He continued his professional development becoming a Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) with the Institute for Supply Management and remains involved as part of the Greater Grand Rapids chapter. He also is a member of the West Michigan World Affairs Council and a volunteer with the American Red Cross.
