Viega will offer tailored training courses for groups of 12 or more at RRCC facilities and labs. The partnership with RRCC helps individuals living in the western parts of the U.S. receive dedicated training from Viega while it continues construction on a training facility near its headquarters in Broomfield, Colo.
“We are excited about this partnership,” says Linda Comeaux, vice president of instruction at Red Rocks Community College. “We look forward to working with Viega to continue providing our community with a skilled workforce.”
In addition to its proximity, Viega chose to partner with RRCC for its reputation in trade training. For its carpentry and construction programs, students at RRCC learn firsthand how to build a miniature house. Having existing facilities where students can learn to install piping systems on actual framed walls and unfinished flooring allows Viega to replicate aspects of the hands-on approach it offers at its current training facility in Nashua, N.H.
“When it comes to training and education, Red Rocks Community College is a school with a good reputation and has comprehensive programs in the plumbing and mechanical trades,” says Bo DeAngelo, senior technical trainer at Viega. “When it comes to education in the trade industries, Viega understands the importance of dedicated training and is happy to support a trade school in our own backyard that shares these values.”
