Viewrail Announces 10-year Warranty for Fluoropolymer Powder Coatings

Viewrail announces a new 10-year warranty for its Fluoropolymer Powder Coatings, including when used in corrosive oceanfront locations.

Viewrail Fluoropolymer Powder Coatings are now warranted for 10 years against degrees of color fading, adhesion, chalking, and corrosion as a result of finish failure in all future interior and exterior installations. For the first five years, Viewrail will either refund the purchase price, repair, or replace the entire system under warranty. In years six through 10, the warranty covers only the affected product and is prorated from 90 to 50 percent. This warranty includes all coastal and non-coastal locations for Fluoropolymer Powder Coats on aluminum posts.

Viewrail Standard Powder Coatings on aluminum material are now warranted for five years in interior installations and for one year in exterior installations. The new warranty will cover any location more than 5 miles from a body of salt water and includes color retention, chalk resistance and gloss retention.

A Brushed Finish on 2205 stainless steel is now warranted for 10 years against structural corrosion in the vast majority of coastal and all non-coastal (more than 5 miles from a body of salt water) locations. Brushed Finishes on 304 stainless steel are warranted for five years in interior installations and for one year in exterior installations. The new Brushed Finish on 304 stainless steel warranty will cover any location more than 5 miles from a body of salt water.

Viewrail recommends using a Fluoropolymer Powder Coat finish on an aluminum post for any exterior application within 5 miles of corrosive water. This will provide the best performance in salt air environments, around chlorinated pools and hot tubs, or anywhere railing will be exposed to intense, direct sunlight.
