VT Industries Inc. announced the acquisition of Supa Doors, a U.S. manufacturer of medium density fiberboard (MDF) doors.
VT is already a manufacturer of architectural wood doors. This addition will expand the VT line to include solid MDF doors for single-family residences, as well as hotels, resorts, assisted living facilities, large-scale residential developments and more.
“Adding Supa gives VT more great product options to reach into additional market segments, including residential condominiums and high-rise applications,” says Jason Farver, senior vice president of the Architectural Wood Door Division for VT Industries. “The products also fit great with our current position of strength in the hotel segment. Joining forces with the experienced Supa team is an exciting step forward for VT’s long-term growth plans.”
Made in the U.S. for 20 years, Supa products are among the world’s most field-tested MDF doors. The doors are made with 100-percent recycled wood fiber, low-VOC primer and glue and No Added Formaldehyde (NAUF) and FSC-certified materials. The patented stile and rail laminated process blends a traditional stile and rail door with the modern manufacturing method of laminated construction. This innovative approach provides several advantages, including interlocking wood edges.
“This is a win-win for our companies and their clients,” says Ian Fisher, director of sales for Supa Doors. “VT is highly respected in the industry, with a long history of innovation and an unwavering commitment to integrity, sustainability and customer service. We couldn’t be more pleased to join this extraordinary team, who can take Supa to new levels of automation, increased production and reduced lead times.”
