{"id":16494,"date":"2014-11-25T12:30:15","date_gmt":"2014-11-25T17:30:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/retrofitmagazine.com\/?p=16494"},"modified":"2014-11-24T17:53:15","modified_gmt":"2014-11-24T22:53:15","slug":"maxlite-donates-community-based-food-rescue-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/retrofitmagazine.com\/maxlite-donates-community-based-food-rescue-program\/","title":{"rendered":"MaxLite Donates to Community-based Food Rescue Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.maxlite.com\" target=\"_blank\">MaxLite<\/a> has donated $1,500 to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.table2table.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Table to Table<\/a> through the organization\u2019s \u201cBag a Lunch, Help a Bunch\u201d program.<\/p>\n<p>Table to Table is a community-based food rescue program that collects fresh and perishable food that would otherwise be wasted and delivers it to nearly 70 recipient agencies that serve the hungry throughout Bergen, Hudson, Passaic and Essex counties in New Jersey.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a company with New Jersey roots, we feel it is important to be a strong community partner and give back to residents that are less fortunate,\u201d said MaxLite President and CEO Yon Sung. \u201cI am proud to match the generosity of our team members with a company donation to Table to Table.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This marks the fourth year MaxLite has participated in Table to Table\u2019s \u201cBag a Lunch, Help a Bunch\u201d campaign. Employees at the company\u2019s West Caldwell headquarters were asked to donate the equivalent of one day\u2019s lunch money, or more, and place the donation within Table to Table\u2019s \u201cBag a Lunch, Help a Bunch\u201d signature brown paper collection bags. In return, they received a company-sponsored lunch and a 100 percent match on their donation.<\/p>\n<p>Employee contributions totaled $750, and MaxLite matched the contribution dollar for dollar. Table to Table is able to serve its recipients meals at less than 10 cents per meal, and through MaxLite\u2019s contributions, the organization will be able to provide nearly 15,000 meals.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMaxLite has once again proven to be the quintessential corporate partner,\u201d said Table to Table Executive Director Ilene Isaacs. \u201cThe extraordinary commitment of the company\u2019s ownership to this program translates year after year to an enthusiastic and robust employee response.  Since they began participating in in our Bag a Lunch, Help a Bunch initiative four years ago, MaxLite has helped us deliver tens of thousands of meals to the people in our community who need it most.
