Foundation<\/a>, in partnership with <a href=\"https:\/\/architectsfoundation.org\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Architects Foundation<\/a>, has announced the opening of the application period for the 2018-19 Architects Foundation Diversity Advancement Scholarship program. The scholarship provides assistance to individuals from a minority race or ethnicity pursuing a professional degree in architecture recognized by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.naab.org\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB)<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Now through Jan. 17, 2018, qualified high school seniors planning to attend school for architecture and first-year college students currently enrolled in a NAAB-accredited architecture program are encouraged to apply. Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and will be required to provide two examples of their creative work, high school transcripts, a personal essay and two letters of recommendation, among other requirements. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.architectsfoundation.org\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">To apply, visit here.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Benjamin Moore &#038; Co. Foundation is proud to continue its partnership with the American Institute of Architects Foundation and once again fund the Diversity Advancement Scholarship program for the third consecutive year,\u201d says Mike Searles, CEO of Benjamin Moore &#038; Co. and chairman of Benjamin Moore &#038; Co. Foundation. \u201cWe are committed to providing students of interior design and architecture the opportunity to advance in their studies and encourage qualified candidates to pursue a scholarship through this program.\u201d\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p>The scholarship awards up to $20,000 for up to five years of undergraduate study, but thanks to additional funding from the Benjamin Moore &#038; Co. Foundation, the top two students will be awarded $5,000 each per year for up to five years, and will have the opportunity to attend the 2018 AIA Conference on Architecture in New York City next summer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is because of the generosity from the Benjamin Moore &#038; Co. Foundation that we are able to increase the awards for our top two scholarship candidates,\u201d says Architects Foundation executive director Marci Reed, CFRE, MPA.\u00a0 \u201cWe are grateful for the Benjamin Moore &#038; Co. Foundation commitment not only to funding these students but also providing them access to the annual networking and educational event.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Scholarship winners will be notified in April 2018 and will have the opportunity to attend the 2018 annual AIA Conference on Architecture taking place June 21-23, in New York City.
