Kingspan Insulation has debuted OPTIM-R next-generation insulation for roof systems.

Kingspan Insulation has debuted OPTIM-R next-generation insulation for roof systems. The insulation comprises rigid vacuum insulation panels with a microporous core, which is evacuated, encased and sealed in a thin, gas-tight envelope. The high level of thermal efficiency—up to R-28 on 1 inch and R-57 on 2 inches using calculated edge thermal-resistance properties—combined with minimal thickness, provides a solution for applications where a lack of construction space or depth is an issue.

Suitable for retrofitting roofing or balcony and terrace systems, OPTIM-R can meet increasingly stringent energy codes without the conflicts of tight egresses and access points, as well as railing and HVAC systems, that thicker, low R-value insulations can run into. It is rated for use in major roofing membrane systems, so this total roofing solution will meet your building projects’ unique needs and requirements.

In new construction applications, Kingspan OPTIM-R can significantly enhance R-values/U-values in areas that would otherwise be accepted as diminishing the overall thermal performance of the roof.

Kingspan OPTIM-R can be used in a number of different applications and is available in a range of systems:
