Each year, light enthusiasts the world over gather for Chase the Dark, an international lighting movement that asks participants to photograph and share displays of light via social media during a 24-hour period as the sun sets westward across the globe. The results capture the creativity and diversity of the lighting profession.

This year on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018, participants will show their artistic and creative talents using a safety reflective spray that becomes illuminated when light is shone directly onto it. The spray, which is invisible in daylight, is washable and can go on fabrics, clothing and hard surfaces. If you don’t have the reflective spray, show your creativity using reflective surfaces and light!

Member companies of the Lighting Industry Resource Council (LIRC) are crowd sponsoring Chase the Dark this year. Find out how to host a Chase the Dark celebration by contacting Kelly Ashmore, IALD director of engagement and component relations, at kelly@iald.org.
