{"id":51746,"date":"2019-04-24T10:00:06","date_gmt":"2019-04-24T14:00:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/retrofitmagazine.com\/?p=51746"},"modified":"2021-12-21T10:51:32","modified_gmt":"2021-12-21T15:51:32","slug":"national-community-renaissance-signs-the-aia-2030-commitment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/retrofitmagazine.com\/national-community-renaissance-signs-the-aia-2030-commitment\/","title":{"rendered":"National Community Renaissance Signs the AIA 2030 Commitment"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The <a aria-label=\"American Institute of Architects (AIA) (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.aia.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">American Institute of Architects (AIA)<\/a> announced that <a href=\"http:\/\/nationalcore.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"National Community Renaissance (National CORE) (opens in a new tab)\">National Community Renaissance (National CORE)<\/a>, a nonprofit developer of affordable housing, has signed the AIA 2030 Commitment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The AIA 2030 Commitment provides architects, engineers, and now developers and owners, with the tools and resources necessary to change how communities design and develop with the goal of combatting the effects of climate change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe want to welcome National CORE as the first real estate developer to &nbsp;join AIA\u2019s 2030 Commitment,\u201d said AIA EVP\/Chief Executive Officer Robert Ivy, FAIA. \u201cWe look forward to accelerating progress toward our net zero goals in partnership with National CORE and other real estate leaders in the future.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a signatory to the AIA 2030 Commitment, National CORE will work with their design teams to report energy performance data for their full portfolio of housing communities.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are excited to join the 2030 Commitment and are dedicated to delivering high-performing, sustainable projects with our architects,\u201d said Steve PonTell, President and CEO of National CORE. \u201cIf we can meet the 2030 Commitment goals in our affordable housing communities, so can any owner-developer.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In June 2018, engineers were invited to participate in the 2030 Commitment.&nbsp; Information surrounding the most recent 2030 progress report can be accessed on AIA\u2019s website.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The American Institute of Architects (AIA) announced that National Community Renaissance (National CORE), a nonprofit developer of affordable housing, has signed the AIA 2030 Commitment.
