{"id":59748,"date":"2020-05-04T15:00:00","date_gmt":"2020-05-04T19:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/retrofitmagazine.com\/?p=59748"},"modified":"2020-05-04T11:30:07","modified_gmt":"2020-05-04T15:30:07","slug":"iald-reschedules-2020-enlighten-conferences","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/retrofitmagazine.com\/iald-reschedules-2020-enlighten-conferences\/","title":{"rendered":"IALD Reschedules 2020 Enlighten Conferences"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iald.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD)<\/a> is rescheduling its 2020 Enlighten conferences due to continued concerns about the COVID-19 pandemic and the uncertainties around what the situation will be in October and November of 2020. IALD has decided to move both the Enlighten Americas in October in Palm Springs, Calif., and Enlighten Europe in November in Oslo, Norway, to 2022 in the same locations in the same cities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Enlighten conferences will return in 2021 with Enlighten Americas 2021 in the mountain destination of Banff, AB Canada, from Oct. 21-23, 2021. IALD will host Enlighten Americas 2022 in Palm Springs, Calif., from Sept. 29, to Oct. 1, 2022, and dates are being finalized for Enlighten Europe 2022, which will be held in Oslo, Norway, in November 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhile rescheduling Enlighten Americas and Enlighten Europe 2020 was a difficult decision to make, over the past two months it has become clear it is the right thing to do for our members, for IALD, and for the larger community we serve,\u201d states CEO Marsha L. Turner, CAE. \u201cAs a global organization that is built around community and connections\u2014both locally and globally\u2014the IALD\u2019s priority is the health and safety of our members, sponsors and attendees. This was a major consideration in the decision to move both 2020 conferences to 2022.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIALD\u2019s Enlighten conferences have always focused on lighting designers and those passionate about lighting design. Moving the conferences is the best action to take as responsible leaders who care about our greater lighting community,\u201d says IALD President Douglas Leonard, IALD. \u201cIn these difficult times it is more important than ever that we leverage our professional connections.
