Lighting by Gregory announces that Dan Endara from Wellbuilt Co., a building construction firm in New York, is the winner of the #LBGDesignCompetition. The design competition was sponsored by the retail showroom and distributor as part of Lighting by Gregory’s 2015 growth plan to expand to the second floor of the showroom located in the historic Bowery Lighting district.
The winning design by Endara transforms the second floor space above the 8,500-square-foot showroom into a multi-use environment for functional office space, private corporate meetings, seminars and a hospitality environment. The design features a core concept that utilizes a variety of materials that can be used with the goal of achieving LEED status. The design features movable walls and panels, custom shelving and cabinetry; detailed workspace vignettes to accommodate showroom staff and incorporates the use of a variety of textures and materials to enhance the architecture of the existing space.
“We are very pleased with the creativity and the quality of the submissions that we received from all of the designers during this competition,” remarks William Skarren, CEO of Lighting by Gregory. “We wanted to host the #LBGDesignCompetition to give the design community the opportunity to showcase their talents by crafting a design for our new space. With the amount of traffic we receive from the design and specifying community, interior designers and residential customers from in and around Manhattan, this new space and its new design will receive a lot of visibility.”
The grand prize entry from Dan Endara will be awarded a $1,000 American Express gift certificate and his design will be featured in the new showroom build out to begin construction in the summer of 2015. The following designers were also awarded for their excellent submissions:
