Aerelight Design, a product design team focused on developing innovative organic light emitting diode (OLED) powered lighting, announces the first shipments of aerelight, the world’s first consumer-ready OLED lamp, to initial backers six months after launching pre-orders. The aerelight task lamp fuses elegant modern form with OLED lighting technology to reimagine the future of lighting design.
aerelight is powered by a paper-thin energy-efficient OLED panel, with an expected lifetime of up to 20 years with typical usage, so there is never a need to replace a bulb. The OLED light panel emits a natural, glare-free source of soft warm light, using 80 percent less energy than a traditional 60-watt light bulb at its maximum brightness. The uni-body frame is cut from a single piece of anodized aluminum and intuitively responds to touch, controlling power and dimming with each purposeful tap. A walnut hardwood base plate cleverly conceals a built-in wireless charging pad that charges Qi compatible mobile devices. Each aerelight is individually hand-crafted in Toronto, making each unit truly unique. aerelight is currently available in red, black and silver finishes.
