Laminators Inc. received notice from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulations, Building Codes and Standards indicating that the application for Florida Product Approval (FPA) has been approved. Laminators Inc.’s Omega-Lite ACM panels are approved for use in all Florida authorities requiring an FPA, including all High Velocity Hurricane Zones (HVHZ) with an approved design pressure of +/- 120 pounds per square foot of wind load.
The Florida Building Code is based on national model building codes and national standards which have been amended to meet the specific needs for the design and construction of buildings in Florida. It is intended to make the local building process more efficient, increase accountability, bring safer products to the market, and better protect residents in the natural-disaster prone area. Florida Product Approval, along with the Florida Building Code, insures safe products and technologies are used in building construction. While Florida Product Approval is mandatory on construction projects in the state of Florida, many other coastal areas have adopted or reference the Florida Building Code and Florida Product Approval in their building code requirements.
“We’re happy to be able to manufacture such high-quality ACM panels that can meet the stringent Florida Product Approval performance levels and provide design professionals and building owners the confidence that our cladding will withstand the most extreme conditions,” says Christopher Bucci, MEng.CE, PE; lead technical sales engineer.
