The Anne Arundel County Public Library System in Maryland strives to offer a strong sense of community by providing patrons with an array of learning resources in a variety of formats to benefit residents of all ages through their neighborhood library. As part of its ongoing mission to serve the community with the best available resources, the library system has completed major renovations to the Severna Park branch.
Library patrons can now enjoy a variety of technology-based improvements, beginning with a touch-screen kiosk that grants them access to their individual account information. Additional technological enhancements include Wi-Fi bars, public access computer stations and self-check stations.
The main collection space was rejuvenated with the installation of new furniture and finishes, the replacement of outdated light fixtures with specialty lighting, and the replacement of antiquated service counters with more patron-friendly units.
Gant Brunnett Architects, in coordination with global architectural and engineering firm AECOM, were commissioned with the design and implementation of the project.
The library system currently has 15 locations across the county with the Severna Park branch being one of their most heavily patronized locations.
