Hubbell Lighting has announced that Columbia Lighting launched a modular design, the CWM, a contemporary wall mount LED luminaire.
Future Proofing The Facility
While it’s a new phrase, “future proof” as a concept in commercial construction has been around for decades. The essence of the term is the genesis of the CWM. Its development was driven by market research at Columbia Lighting that demonstrated owners of commercial facilities are becoming more attuned to the payback of products that are modular, especially as it relates to LEDs. Embedded in this equation is the value associated with the ability to change the aesthetics of a facility without swapping out foundational equipment like lighting.
The CWM is appealing to a variety of decision makers involved in commercial lighting projects. The design community will be drawn to the flexibility of the aesthetics. Engineers will be empowered to specify base performance metrics, and installers will be pleased with the ease of installation – the CWM ships direct complete with no disassembly required in order to mount the luminaire.
A great example of this is 3form products. 3form integrates sustainable products into fixtures to create ambiance. Lighting designers have the option of incorporating 3form products into the CWM.
Performance
The performance of the CWM is enhanced by a proprietary profile lens design that provides uniform appearance and visual comfort. The light engine is the backbone to 140 lumens per watt. The aesthetics and flexibility is delivered through architecturally styled end caps.
