Building owners are looking for ways to increase the amount of usable space in their existing structures. When you can’t afford to lose the space that a swinging door takes up, install a door-in-the-wall with the Johnson 1500SC Pocket Door Frame. A standard swinging door takes up to 14-square-feet around an entry. Pocket doors use no floor space around an entry, in effect, allowing for more space in rooms and hallways. With the swinging door out of the way, building owners can put tables, pictures, and even shelving along the wall where the door used to be, increasing organizational and storage opportunities.
The Johnson 1500SC Pocket Door Frame can be used with solid core wood doors up to 200 pounds, and is available with its Soft-Close sliding door hardware included in the package. The soft-close hardware works like a cabinet door closer with pocket, wall mount and sliding doors.
The Johnson Soft-Close sliding door hardware prevents door slamming and reduces noise. The soft closing action helps prevent pinched fingers between the door and the jamb, as well as providing privacy. It also reduces wear and tear on your door and jamb.
Soft-close sliding door hardware will take a handyman less than an hour to install. It is for use in new or retrofitted installations with the following Johnson Hardware pocket door, sliding and wall mount door systems: 138F, 134F, 100PD, 100SD, 2610F, 1500, 1562 and 2710.
Use one set for soft action opening or closing in a single door, two sets on a single door for soft-close action opening and closing. For two converging pocket or wall mount doors, or two bypass sliding doors, use four sets for soft action opening and closing. Each set includes a soft-close dampener, two door hanger plates, an actuator and a ball-bearing door hanger.
