Bobrick Washroom Equipment Inc. has introduced the fourth edition of its Planning Guide for Accessible Restrooms. The updated guidebook references the 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design and the ICC A117.1 -2017 – Accessible and Usable Buildings and Facilities.
“Since the Americans with Disabilities Act was adopted in the early ’90s, Alan Gettelman, our vice president of External Affairs, has led the charge in developing and updating Bobrick’s Planning Guide for Accessible Restrooms for nearly 30 years,” says Matt Louchheim, president. “Alan’s breadth of knowledge has made him a ready reference for architects, distributors and specifiers across the country. The guide has become the ultimate resource for accessible restroom design.”
Added to the fourth edition of Bobrick’s Planning Guide for Accessible Restrooms is a table of contents; updated figures and appendix; as well as content updates in multiple areas including federal buildings, hygiene, health and wellness; shifting demographics; multigenerational restrooms; full-height partitions and individual toilet rooms.
The guide addresses standards, reach ranges, space requirements, universal design and layouts for both large, multi-compartment restrooms, individual toilet rooms, as well as private restrooms in commercial buildings.
