LaMar Lighting Co. introduces the LWT Series of backlit LED panels made in the U.S.
Troffers, light fixtures that fit into modular drop ceilings, are an ideal type of lighting for commercial facilities, such as schools and offices. Typically available in 1- by 4-foot, 2- by 2-foot and 2- by 4-foot sizes, panel style troffers are increasingly being designed or retrofitted to work with LED light sources.
Too often, specifiers reach for imported, edge-lit LED panels when replacing fluorescent troffers. Because LEDs are directional, edge-lighting a diffuser panel creates illumination that is not as bright as a backlit panel. In a backlit panel, the light sources point downward into the room, creating higher light levels and more uniform light.
Lamar’s LWT series is a premium grade backlit LED panel, made in the U.S. by IBEW union employees and uses only LEDs from select manufacturers. The LM-80 tested LED system powering the fixture has been custom-designed to provide even illumination with no LED hot spots. A proprietary optical system and custom-extruded LED formula acrylic diffuser ensures even illumination across the panel with no LED pixilation.
The LWT series is available in several lumen packages with available 0- to 10-volt dimming, emergency battery backup and motion sensor. Motion sensor capabilities, combined with Lamar’s Occu-smart bi-level controls mean the LWT series is also suitable for installations in interior spaces not frequently occupied, such as stairwells or corridors. With various color temperatures, the LWT series offers the right lighting temperature for drop ceiling applications.
LWT luminaires are fully made in the U.S. and are American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) compliant.
