Cambridge Engineering Promotes Dave Binz to Applications Engineering Manager

Cambridge Engineering, a manufacturer of high-temperature heating and ventilation (HTHV) direct-fired gas products for commercial spaces, announces the promotion of Dave Binz to a leadership role with the firm’s Applications Engineering team.

Binz joined Cambridge as a regional sales manager in June 2014 and will transition to this engineering leadership role in the early part of 2016. His success as a regional sales manager, gleaned from several years prior experience with a large residential/commercial HVAC manufacturer, warranted this promotion. Binz will lead this team in the role of Applications Engineering manager and actively participate in the Revenue, Engineering and Leadership Teams. This new role will be client-facing and leverage his experience in the field to help solidify client relationships, as well as develop strategy and vision for new technologies within the commercial and industrial HVAC markets.

Binz’s duties will include application support, custom application design, engineering education and advocacy, safety and mechanical standards, and code support, technical development and strategy. Binz will also lead Cambridge’s efforts in green building, with direct involvement in those applications and products that meet ASHRAE 189.1, which provides sustainability guidance for designing, building and operating high-performance green buildings.

Cambridge Engineering’s direct-fired gas HTHV space heaters are sized for the efficient heating and ventilation of commercial and industrial spaces. The products are documented to achieve 40 to 70 percent energy savings over other unit heaters or traditional boiler applications and use 100 percent outside air for safe, efficient heating.
