Trane has expanded its Series S CenTraVac chiller line with the CVHM model.

Series S CVHM chiller model is available in 170-370 ton range and can be applied to any commercial building including retrofits and system replacements. The chillers are designed to fit in varied spaces, which addresses customers’ needs for a replacement in existing, tight structures.

The chillers are available in oil-free and oil-lubricated configurations, providing customers with full- and part-load efficiencies. They are shipped from the factory in a container that can pass through standard double doors measuring 72-inches-wide by 80-inches-tall. If necessary, the chiller can also be disassembled into its major components.

About the Series S CenTraVac Chiller Portfolio

The Series S CenTraVac chiller portfolio includes models CVHS and CVHM. Customers can select the Series S CenTraVac chillers to operate with R-123 or R-514A, a next-generation refrigerant also known as Opteon XP30, with a global warming potential (GWP) of less than two. The combination of high-efficiency operation and use of a low pressure, low-GWP refrigerant provides low greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and operational costs, and offers customers choices on when and how they want to start using next-generation refrigerants.

Series S CenTraVac chillers are part of the Ingersoll Rand EcoWise portfolio of products, which are designed to lower environmental impact with next-generation, low-GWP refrigerants and high-efficiency operation.

Other Trane chillers included in the EcoWise portfolio are CenTraVac centrifugal chillers, the Trane Series R RTWD water-cooled chiller, Trane Sintesis air-cooled chillers, and Trane Series E CenTraVac centrifugal water-cooled chillers for Europe and the Middle East.

Ingersoll Rand Climate Commitment

Ingersoll Rand made a climate commitment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from its products and operations by 2030. The Ingersoll Rand Climate Commitment pledged to:

  • Cut the refrigerant GHG footprint of its products by 50 percent by 2020 and incorporate lower GWP alternatives across its portfolio by 2030
  • Invest $500 million in product-related research and development over the next five years to fund the long-term reduction of GHG emissions
  • Reduce company operations-related GHG emissions by 35 percent by 2020

To date, its climate commitment has supported the avoidance of approximately 6.7 million metric tons of CO2e globally, which is the equivalent of avoiding annual CO2 emissions from energy used in more than 700,000 homes for one year. By 2030, the company expects to reduce its carbon footprint by 50 million metric tons.
