A premier shopping destination in the greater Toronto area, Upper Canada Mall is located in one of the fastest growing and most affluent areas of Ontario. The mall receives more than 7 million guests each year and specifically caters to an upscale demographic with stores such as Apple, Sport Chek, Michael Kors, Banana Republic, Pandora and more. That’s why, when it came time for the mall’s renovation, the facility required a complete commercial restroom solution that could not only meet the demands of a high-traffic environment but also match the elegant aesthetic associated with the mall’s high-end retailers.
Upper Canada Mall wanted to create a restroom experience that was modern and easily accessible. By specifying Sloan’s AER-DEC integrated sink system, the mall achieved both goals with one product. With a Sloan BASYS faucet, soap dispenser and hand dryer all in one sink basin, guests are able to expedite the handwashing process—in a touch-free and highly efficient system—and quickly return to their shopping. The AER-DEC also presents a facility maintenance benefit by eliminating water spills; guests no longer have to take their wet hands across the restroom to the hand dryer. Sloan BASYS faucets feature integral water supply shut-off, providing a water-efficient complement to the AER-DEC sink. Additionally, the faucets’ sleek, modern polished chrome finish matches the mall’s upscale aesthetic and integrates seamlessly with the overall design of the facility.
Along with its water-efficient faucets, Upper Canada Mall specified Sloan flushometers for additional water conservation benefits. For its water closets, the mall specified Royal 152-1.28 ESS SWB sensor flushometers and implemented Royal 195-0.5 ESS SWB flushometers for its urinals. Both Sloan flushometers provide high-efficiency water savings. The mall also utilized the flushometers’ sensor technology behind a stainless-steel wall plate to complete the restroom’s hands-free environment for the thousands of guests that pass through each day.
