Nastro Technologies, a veteran-owned tech startup specializing in asset tracking technology, announced the launch of the BitRip App. The app, when combined with proprietary heavy-duty labels preprinted with dynamic scannable codes, can be used to organize and track critical information, connecting physical objects to critical digital information.
Downloadable for free, BitRip is used with BR Code labels and allows users to easily manage assets in the field by digitally storing and editing any information to that specific label. BitRip provides the accountability of a paper trail without the pile of papers on a desk.
Battlefield Inspired, Field Tested
U.S. Marine veteran, CEO, and Co-Founder of the company, Nicholas Dimitruk, said that BitRip and the associated tape were conceived in field combat operations. The app and labels deliver functionality well beyond QR codes and traditional barcodes. BitRip and BR Codes are completely fluid and flexible, and users can easily assign—and update—digital assets, links and more to them any time. The labels are preprinted on a roll and can be immediately deployed in the field.
QR Codes are assigned to a single web address, must be configured and printed before field deployment, and are less durable than BR Code labels. Traditional barcodes aren’t intended
to be assigned to a specific asset, are generic, and can’t provide specific information about the assigned asset.
Endless Uses
While there are endless uses for the labels, the construction industry is specifically using them to track and manage the movement of building materials from manufacture to installation. Each BR label can be loaded with information about the product, such as its origin, manufacturing details, shipping information, installation instructions, warranty, and more.
The data can include photos, audio, hyperlinks (including video links), PDFs, text, and more. This helps streamline supply chain operations, reduce errors, and improve visibility and traceability. Every user scan imprints a timestamp, geolocation, and user identifier, giving each code a uniquely trackable history – you can see what was done by whom, providing outstanding visibility of your assets.
Nastro Technologies also offers the BitRip Desktop Pro Plan, which delivers expanded capabilities beyond the free mobile app, including: the ability to manage multiple users across multiple projects; import/export data; high-volume label creation; scan activity dashboard; smartsheet integration; connect to other workflows via an open API; and much more.
