Sutfin Mechanical and KAL Heating & Cooling has partnered with other local contractors and Building Homes for Heroes to host welcome home ceremonies in Illinois for two military veterans. USMC Corporal Collin Dunne and Navy Petty Officer Ryan Shannon both received mortgage-free homes from Building Homes for Heroes. Dunne will reside in Plainfield, Ill., and Shannon will live in Lake in the Hills, Ill. Throughout their service, Dunne and Shannon suffered many injuries that have impacted their mobility. These injuries require specific modifications to their homes in order to live safely and focus on their recovery.
To support these veterans, Johnson Controls donated YORK heating and cooling systems with Wi-Fi capable YORK touch-screen thermostats to better assist them with adjusting their home’s temperature without the need to get up. Sutfin Mechanical and KAL Heating & Cooling donated the HVAC installation services for the veterans’ new homes.
“Having the support of companies like Johnson Controls, Sutfin Mechanical and KAL Heating & Cooling gives us the opportunity to honor injured veterans with a mortgage-free home,” says Chad Gottlieb, director of construction development, Building Homes for Heroes. “The customized amenities companies like Johnson Controls are able to bring to these homes allows veterans to live their lives in greater comfort and dignity.”
Building Homes for Heroes is a national organization that recognizes those who serve in the U.S. Armed Forces by supporting the needs of severely wounded or disabled soldiers and their families. “There is no greater honor than giving back to the veterans that have sacrificed for our country. Sutfin, Jr., president, Sutfin Mechanical.
