DEWALT has launched the 20V MAX Cordless Concrete Nailer (DCN890), an gas-free nailer designed for use in concrete and steel applications. Running on a DEWALT 20V MAX battery, this tool eliminates the need for fuel cells and provides an alternative that operates on the user’s existing battery platform. The nailer is ideal for commercial framing and tracking, mechanical and electrical installations, and both insulation surface prep applications.

As an electric tool, the 20V MAX Cordless Concrete Nailer resolves frustrations identified in gas concrete nailers. The inconvenience of maintaining and storing fuel cells on the jobsite is eliminated and the tool has a wider operable temperature and altitude range. Additionally, the design also makes the tool consistent and serviceable.

The 20V MAX Cordless Concrete Nailer is built around a flywheel-based mechanism, which yields several performance benefits, including application speed, and low noise and recoil levels. The nailer operates at an application speed comparable to gas concrete nailers, providing the benefits of gas-free operation without sacrificing productivity. These features make it a comfortable tool for periods of extended use, as well as an ideal solution for installations in occupied spaces.

Despite low noise and recoil, the 20V MAX Cordless Concrete Nailer delivers power. It features variable power settings, which allow the user to adjust for applications ranging from hollow block to hard concrete and steel. Additionally, its brushless motor provides up to 600 shots per charge using a 5.0Ah DEWALT battery, driving 3/4-inch .102 fasteners into concrete.

In addition to its power output, the nailer has also been designed with a feature-set that provides ease-of-use and convenience. The concrete nailer features a field-serviceable driver blade. This has been designed for a quick change, which the user can complete in under 2 minutes, even on the jobsite. Because the tool doesn’t require a return to the Service Center for this fix, the 20V MAX Cordless Concrete Nailer helps to reduce downtime on the jobsite. Other features include dual, tool-free access points for maintenance, a tool-free driver stall-release lever, and LEDs to illuminate work surfaces.

The nailer will also launch with a range of pins including Concrete, Steel, and Hybrid pins in common lengths of .102-, .120-, .145-inch, and stepped diameters. These pins are in angled collations and are compatible only with the 20V MAX Cordless Concrete Nailer. Additionally, a range of accessories are available to enable the 20V MAX Cordless Concrete Nailer to perform in a variety of applications and trades. Two additional contact trips will be available—both Magnetic (DCN8902) and Non-Magnetic (DCN8903) versions—which will allow for compatibility to drive current POWERS Stick-E mechanical clips and washers. Additionally, a pole tool for the nailer will also be available.

The 20V MAX Cordless Concrete Nailer adds to the 20V MAX System of tools from DEWALT, which now totals over 100 products. Available where DEWALT products are sold, the nailer will come standard with a three-year limited warranty, two-year service contract and 90-day money-back guarantee.
