Ferguson, the largest wholesale plumbing distributor in the U.S., has been named a 2014 Best Places to Work in Virginia by Virginia Business magazine.
“This award means a lot to us,” says Steve Roznowski, Ferguson senior vice president of human resources. “We firmly believe that our success depends on the wellbeing of our associates. If our associates are happy, they’ll make our customers happy.”
With a strong commitment to the well-being of associates and their families, Ferguson offers several notable and unique benefits to their workforce, making it a great place to work:
Ferguson Family Fund: The fund provides monetary support to assist associates following a natural or civil disaster or series of sudden or unexpected events or circumstances beyond the associate’s reasonable control.
Pulse: To emphasize wellness, associates can enroll in a program that tracks their healthy activities from moving more to drinking more water to getting more sleep. They also receive a pedometer and compete against other associates in monthly step contests.
The statewide awards program has a two-part assessment. Part one includes a detailed questionnaire to capture company policies, practices and demographics. Part two is an employee engagement and satisfaction survey. More than 400 Virginia Ferguson associates were chosen randomly to participate and at least 65 percent had to respond for eligibility purposes.
The rankings of the 4th annual Best Places to Work in Virginia were published in the February 2014 issue of Virginia Business. This was the first year Ferguson received the award.
