GAF is once again providing support to Habitat for Humanity’s 37th Carter Work Project, held this year in Charlotte, N.C., for families to achieve affordable homeownership. With a continued commitment to build resilient communities, GAF not only delivered roofing materials for all 27 homes and volunteer time during the week-long rebuild effort, but also its expertise to train non-profit partners involved in the project through a GAF Roofing Academy training, led by an industry expert on installing a residential roofing system in July.
“As long-standing partners, we continue to support Habitat’s mission of addressing a critical need for safe and affordable housing and fulfill our promise to protect what matters most – families and communities,” says Andy Hilton, chief communications officer and head of Corporate Social Responsibility at GAF.
Since 2011, GAF and its national network of GAF-certified contractors have supported the roofing installation on more than 3,300 homes in partnership with Habitat for Humanity as a part of GAF Community Matters, its social impact initiative focused on making a positive difference as neighbors and partners in the community.
