NEMA’s shipment index for high intensity discharge (HID) lamps has continued to decline in the third quarter of 2016. Compared to the same quarter last year, metal halide lamp shipments fell 25.4 percent, sodium vapor lamps decreased by 15.2 percent, and shipments of mercury vapor lamps decreased by 11.0 percent.
Metal halide lamps accounted for 60.3 percent of the high intensity discharge market in Q3 2016, while sodium vapor and mercury vapor account for 35.6 percent and 4.2 percent respectively.
