IMP Joint Resists Air and Water

BENCHMARK by Kingspan IMP Joint contributes to favorable R-values.

BENCHMARK by Kingspan has added a high-performance joint to the Designwall line of insulated metal panels (IMP). The double-sealed joint in the face/liner, a double-sloped drainage shelf and double-pressure equalization chamber provide air- and water-penetration resistance. The joint also offers structural performance via the positive fastening of both faces and contributes to favorable R-values. In preliminary thermal modeling assessments, panels featuring the new joint state an average value of R-7 per inch thickness for flat panels. Design wall panels featuring the joint are available up to 4-inches thick; ribbed panels are available in 2 1/2-, 3- and 4-inch thicknesses.
